Oodles of Doodles, Numero Dos
More randomness, some times my pencil, pen, marker, crayon, whatever seems to have a mind of its own.
The Maxx! A comic book character first and cartoon character second. I only knew The Maxx from his early 90’s cartoon shorts on mTV’s Oddites. (Aeon Flux showed during the same show.) I used to really like The Maxx but somehow forgotten him until recently. I must admit that I really enjoy doodling him. (More often than not it’s a full fledge drawing rather than a doodle.)
The Maxx again.
And again.
Brothers? The comics and movie seem to hint to that. Regardless of their possible blood ties Wolverine and Sabertooth are bitter enemies. They fight it out every chance they get. And I really enjoy drawing fangs/teeth lately so this was fun doodle. It took me only a few minutes to knock this one out while in a meeting.
Good ol’ Cpt. America. Not my best, not my favorite…but a doodle all the same. His nose looks a little wrong to me. Oh well, you don’t need to be pretty to lead the Avengers.
Little, baby, Cyclops. I still don’t like him, but he’s easy to doodle.
There’s my boy, Fett. Boba, no middle name, Fett is one of my favs. This one started as a quick time killer with no intention of color. But I like the simplicity of it all so I gave him a few coats. He didn’t thank me. He’s not known for being too nice.
He eats worlds! That’s right…I said “He eats worlds.” He’s Galactus and he travels the universe like it’s a buffet. Galactus has always been a weird one for me. He’s tried to eat Earth a lot of times, and somehow he gets beat. How does someone so massive, who eats worlds get beat by some superheroes? I like the Fantastic 4 but come on. Silver Surfer whooping him is easier to swallow. #punintended Anyway, never tried to draw him. Found a pic doodled him a few times and then this one appeared.
Not my best. Not my favorite, just something to pass some time. Rhino vs. Spiderman. Spoiler alert: Spiderman wins.
Doodles? Well in their inception, YES. But these were done at home during the Olympics. I like the idea of drawing on stickers. You are limited to a small space and you have to chose focal points or messages you want to send. Plus I like the fact that I can peel them off and stick them to binds, drawing pads, my forehead… That, and they are small so I can knock out a bunch before my hand cramps up.
Thanos. Well…what can I say? I heard he’s teased in the new Avengers movie so I looked him up since I do not know him…at all. Anyway I ran across a couple of pics and thought he look interesting. Like Galactus I doodled him a few times and then this one begged for color.
I have a friend who runs a recycling service. He saw my pic of The Maxx and asked (tongue and cheek) if I’d make a super hero recycling man. Well…I doodled it a bunch of times. I was just playing at first, but then realizing I could do this. So I did and sent it to him. He thanked me by putting it on Facebook. I was a little embarrassed.
Venom is a bad mutha. Spiderman has been on the receiving end of some serious Venom ass-whoopins in the past. Recently Marvel as tried to move Venom into the anti-hero role and trying to give him some morals…. I ain’t buying it. Give me the tongue wagging, fang showing, creepster anyday. This started out as a generic head and ended up being Venom. I like when this happens.
More Wolvie! This was taken from a pic of “toddler Wolverine.” For me Wolverine sans mask is much easier that with. This is was so-so for me. I do like his anime-mouth.
